South Side Coaching Club for Juniors
The South Side Coaching Club is a program where young athletes can train to ride faster and further. Juniors aren’t adults, so shouldn’t always train like one. As young athletes are still growing and developing, the multiple demands on their time and energy needs to be considered. School, part-time jobs, other sports, and socializing are all important and need to be factored into any training plan. Maintaining the fun and enjoyment of cycling is of paramount importance and will foster a love of cycling into adulthood, not to mention success on and off the bike.
Our Junior training plans follow this philosophy by limiting the amount of volume (number of hours) and intensity (number of intervals) per week, as well as workouts that incorporate balance and skill games. An FSE coach is available by email anytime to answer their questions and give them feedback.
How it Works:
After a parent signs up for the Coaching Club and pays the monthly fee, they will receive an email with next steps.
These steps include signing up for a free TrainingPeaks (TP) account, then connecting that account to FSE. After that, you or the athlete will fill out the Training Plan Request Form.
An FSE coach will then add 4 week training plan blocks to their TP calendar that align with their goals, their available training time, and the time of year.
Further instructions will then be provided by email that explains how to follow the plans.
Note: While coach monitoring or feedback about their completed workouts is not included with these plans, athletes or parents are free to ask questions anytime by email, or schedule a free chat here: https://calendly.com/fsecoaching/60min

All workouts can be performed on any bike, outside or inside, including on Zwift, Rouvy, and TrainingPeaks Virtual with automatic uploads and downloads to/from TrainingPeaks.
All power-based workouts are compatible with Garmin and Wahoo computers.
